The Welsh building community recently came together at a glitzy do in Cardiff to celebrate the very best building projects in Wales at the Federation of Master Builders (FMB) Cymru Master Builder Awards.
The awards celebrate the incredible achievements of Master Builders and take place across the UK to showcase examples of high-quality craftsmanship, exceptional customer service and building excellence.
More than 130 guests attended the gala dinner, which was sponsored by Rockwool, and a diverse range of top-quality building projects were on show.
The event was hosted by BBC Scrum V rugby pitch-side reported, Phil Steele.
Now in its 14th year, the Master Builder Awards provide an opportunity to recognise and acknowledge the hard work and contribution that small to medium-sized building firms make to their local communities.
Ifan Glyn, Director of FMB Cymru, said the quality of the entries made it very hard on the judges to choose the winners.
“The high calibre of nominated projects this year was particularly impressive and reinforces why Master Builders are the best in the building industry.
“The Master Builder Awards provide us with the opportunity to give our members the recognition they deserve for their dedication and commitment to delivering quality building projects,” Ifan said.
“It was great to welcome some new entrants this year, and all the companies who nominated projects should be very proud of their work.
“We’re also grateful for the support of our sponsor, Rockwool, who help to make events such as these possible, and enable us to bring our members and their clients together to help celebrate a job well done.”
The winners from the Wales Awards will now go to represent the nation at the UK Awards taking place in London in September.
More than 600 guests are expected to attend the national ceremony, which will be hosted by TV presenter and building enthusiast Nick Knowles. In addition to competing against other projects from other parts of the UK in their respective categories, the Welsh members will be vying for the overall Master Builder Award and the chance to drive home in an Isuzu D-Max Utah Pick Up truck worth more than £30,000 and collect a £1,000 cheque for their client.
“We look forward to cheering on the Welsh winners.” Ifan said.
